Health Insurance Marketplace

Health Insurance for You!

We’ll help you find health insurance that fits your health care needs, your wallet and your life.

New health insurance rules take effect on January 1, 2014, that requires most Americans to have health insurance.

There will be new health insurance options that can improve your health and protect you from high health care costs.  Certified Application Counselors at Southern Missouri Community Health Center can help you understand and apply for your new health insurance, so you will find coverage with less hassle.

Health Center Staff Can Help

Starting October 1, 2013, trained staff will show you the new Health Insurance Marketplace website, where you will “shop” for and buy an insurance plan that works best for you.

They will walk you through the Marketplace application so you can compare your options and enroll in a health insurance plan.

What You Get and What You Pay

All Marketplace plans must cover doctor visits, prescriptions, emergency room and hospital care, pregnancy, mental health, pre-existing conditions, and more.

What you’ll pay depends on your income.  People making less money will get a break on the cost of their coverage.
